NPP Regional Chairman of Bono Region, Kwame Baffour aka Abronye DC has lashed out at the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for opposing the decision by Parliament to construct a new 450-seater chamber, describing them as “hypocrites”.
Member of Parliament [MP] for Juaboso constituency in the Western Region, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has says there is absolutely no need for government to build a new Parliamentary chamber to replace the current one.
According to him, Ghana has pressing needs that should be attended to and not to make plans for a new chamber.
Reacting to the standpoint of the MP on UTV’S “Adekye Nsroma”, Abronye DC held strongly that the NDC will always oppose every good initiative by the Akufo-Addo government.
Also touching on the issue of recruiting nurses, Abronye refuted the claims by the Juaboso MP that Ex-President Mahama failed to recruit nurses under his regime because there were challenges with their licensing exams.
Abronye disclosed that Mr. Mahama and the NDC “intentionally” didn’t recruit nurses during their administration but added that, on the contrary, President Akufo-Addo has directed the Health Ministry to engage the services of unemployed health workers until the end of the year.
“The excuse by Hon. Akando is a way to run away from the real fact because as a matter of fact, qualified nurses were also left unemployed during the tenure of John Mahama. NDC has always opposed Free SHS saying its budgets are too huge and Mr. Mahama describing it as the high influx in free education will not allow Ghanaians have good and quality education…NDC is fond of criticizing every good intervention brought by this government…,” he stressed.
