Hanna Bissiw descends on CID boss over missing girls comment

The Women’s Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hanna Bissiw has called on the president to shame his critics by directing the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Dankwa, to produce the three missing Takoradi girls.

Speaking on Citi TV’s Breakfast Daily, Hannah Bisiw said the CID boss must be made to produce the girls at all cost since she publicly proclaimed at a press conference that the police knew where the kidnapped girls were.

The CID boss recently said her comment was misconstrued but Hannah Bissiw discredited the claim.

“When children are being kidnapped and the CID boss says she knows exactly where the children are and she is still not producing them, that should be something that the president [should worry about]. [He] should tell her to bring the girls to shame all the criminals and all those who are thinking that [the government] is not in charge of security,” she said on Citi TV.

“Mr. President, shame all of us who are saying your CID boss lied. We are holding her to her words. Ask her to bring back our girls,” Hannah Bissiw added.

The Women’s Wing of the NDC had already given the CID boss a 14-day ultimatum to find the girls and reunite them with their families.

The NDC Women’s wing said the CID must resign if she is unable to reunite the girls with their families after the 14-day ultimatum.

Hanna Bissiw who addressed the press conference that announced the ultimatum said the Women’s Wing of the party will use the next seven days, to collect signatures for a petition to the President over the three kidnapped Takoradi girls.

He said they will also petition the Inspector General of Police, David Asante Appeatu over the matter.
