Martin Amidu should consider himself sacked under NDC in 2021 – Otukonor

Ghana’s Special Prosecutor, Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu should consider himself unemployed under the next National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration because his office will be collapsed.

Deputy General Secretary of the party, Peter Boamah Otukonor who gave the threat revealed it must be done in order to save the taxpayers money from further dissipation from a man who has failed to prove to Ghanaians he can fight corruption with his current position.

“The office is useless and job for the boys and the next NDC government will not like to waste tax payers’ money to fund it”, he spoke on Kumasi based Nhyira FM’s morning show monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

According to the NDC executive, the intention of the then opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to establish the office was to hunt NDC members for alleged corrupt activities which according to him, has failed.

“If Martin Amidu happens to be my relation, I would have advised him to resign to save his face”, Peter Otukonor told host of Nhyira FM’s morning show, Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin in an interview.

Meanwhile, Adentan New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has charged Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu to update Ghanaians what his office has done or is doing to fight corruption in the country.

According to him, the office should publish list of ‘corrupt’ cases it has prosecuted and go public on the progress of work on cases so far.

He said “I am aware that the Special Prosecutor wants to establish an institution…a solid institution that will stand the test of time.”
