General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has described COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah as unfit for the position of Director General of Criminal Investigative Department.
According to him, given the allegations surrounding her since she assumed office and how she has so far executed her work, she should even be in prison.
“Left to me, that lady [Tiwaa] should be in prison by now. If not in prison, she should be in her house. She has no business heading our premier criminal investigative body.”
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah was speaking to the pres on the sidelines of a press conference on the recent CID invitation to the NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo has been summoned by the CID over the last month to assist with investigations in the wake of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence.
This was after he was heard on tape allegedly suggesting plans to threaten some people and cause fear and panic.
Mr. Ofosu Ampofo’s latest invitation to the CID had to do with the recent kidnappings and fire incidents in the country.
Mr. Asiedu Nketiah echoed the sentiment of former President John Mahama who felt the allegations against Mr. Ampofo are useless and means for government harassment.
He is of the view that this is the “type of harassment of a CID Boss who has shown clearly she was doing partisan work.”
The General Secretary also recalled how COP Addo-Danquah was drawn into the corruption allegations against the two Deputy Chiefs of Staff; Francis Asenso-Boakye and Samuel Abu Jinapor, by musician Kwame Asare Darko, AKA A-Plus.
“Remember she was caught on tape indicating that the purpose of any investigation she would be doing is about making Nana Akufo-Addo’s government look nice.”
COP Addo-Danquah was allegedly on a leaked recording trying to cover up the allegations but she said the said recording was doctored and denied the allegations.
