The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has doubted the ability of former President Mahama and his team to produce an exclusive manifesto without “plagiarizing” the works of others in 2020.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako stated that he has personally spotted the campaign message of UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, on social media and was amazed President Mahama’s team did “a lazy work by lifting the content and style” of the original composer (Mr. Johnson) and posting it on his Facebook handle.
“I among the first people to see the post and alot of my friends also saw it. Even if you can’t read the message, you could tell from the style in which the message was crafted that Mahama had copied Boris Johnson. It was the same format. The first message was the same with the same door logo”.
He continued that “I follow politics in UK alot and I saw the simple post by Boris Johnson. Later on, I saw that Mahama has copied the same thing and style and I was amazed. Do you trust such a person to write a meaningful manifesto for you? He will go and plagiarize what the NPP and President Akufo-Addo is presenting and claim he is the author of it”, Chairman Wontumi said.
He continued by wondering if “you can’t produce a simple COVID-19 message, how can you write a manifesto?”
Mr. Antwi-Boasiako popularly referred to as Chairman Wontumi added that former President Mahama was also copying every thing government is doing in trying to restore faith in Ghanaians in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.
“When President Akufo-Addo decided to inaugurate a team of experts to lead the fight against COVID-19, Mahama copied him by doing same. When Mahama heard that government was going to organise a national day of fasting, he quickly did the same thing by declaring 3 days of fasting. Mahama is living a plagiarized lifestyle”, Chairman Wontumi said.
