The NDC are hypocrites — Sam Payne

The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Payne has lambasted the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), describing them as “hypocrites”.

Sam Payne condemned the “hypocrisy” of the NDC after the party embarked on demonstration dubbed “Kum Yen Preko” on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.

He wondered how the NDC could compared the tenure of Ex-President John Mahama to the current administration saying “if not inaptitude and incompetency, how can one compare the eight years of opposition NDC to that of the two and half years of NPP…nobody will do that,” he said.

According to the Coalition for Social Justice (CSJ), the “Kum Yen Preko”‘ protest was held in displeasure with the governance system of President Akufo-Addo describing the hardship, insecurity, and oppression under the current Akufo-Addo administration.

Reacting to the protest on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo”, Sam Payne posited that hypocrisy on the part of the NDC coupled with untruthfulness caused their government to mismanage the economy in the worst manner.

“Because of hypocrisy and untruthfulness NDC says they are demonstrating against hardship and insecurity under the Akufo-Addo administration…After mismanaging the economy, they still have the audacity to talk…Today, we have gotten a government that says instead of spending state resource recklessly, we will invest it on the education, infrastructures, youth unemployment…This is an opportunity that Nana Akufo Addo and his government are giving to Ghanaians. I wouldn’t have completed my six forms if not for my Uncle. So, why should NDC think of depriving Ghanaians of benefiting from the state resource,” he blurted out.

Under NDC regime, many businesses collapsed due to instability of our lighting system properly referred to as ‘dumsor’ from 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016; none of our trainee nurses were employed but two and half years in government, we have employed over 54,000. In education, we have employed over 9,000 teachers under Senior High School categories. In Agric sector, they have employed close to 2,000 Agric Extension Officers and still counting. So with all this fact, you come out to tell us that there are no jobs…for cheap popularity, politics of convenience you will lie about the good initiatives of the government…but we leave everything to their conscience and allow Ghanaians who are benefiting from good interventions of this government to judge between NDC and NPP,” he further stressed.
